ABOUT your hosts & the Bayouside Arts Collective:
Brooks Frederick and Andrea Dupree are excited to co-facilitate this collaborative Zoom gathering in support of the Bayouside Arts Collective, a summer arts program rooted in community, storytelling, and environmental awareness in the Gulf South.

Brooks Frederick, based in Brooklyn, is a classically trained painter and educator whose work engages environmental justice and collective healing. His facilitation practice centers on building intentional creative communities that foster connection across difference. He teaches painting and drawing at Adelphi University and works with students of all ages through workshops and independent programs in New York and Louisiana.

Andrea Dupree is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With over 20 years of teaching experience, an M.A. in Innovative Early Childhood Education, and a background as a Yoga teacher, her work bridges ecological art, mindfulness, and material-based inquiry, inviting reflection through tactile, process-based making.

The Bayouside Arts Collective brings together a diverse, intergenerational community of artists, young people, and cultural workers creating and learning together in the bayou region of South Louisiana.
The annual summer program is supported in part by the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center and the Terrebonne Waterlife Museum, organizations dedicated to preserving and sharing the ecological and cultural heritage of the region.
