Wearable Altars: Handcrafted Fiber Art
I create one-of-a-kind wearable fiber art that exists somewhere between sculpture, adornment, and contemporary altar. Using wet felting, needle felting, embroidery, and natural fibers, I transform wool, silk, and found materials into pieces meant to be worn, displayed, and lived with.
Inspired by the landscapes of Northern New Mexico, animism, and the histories carried by reclaimed materials, my work invites curiosity, reflection, and everyday ritual.
My wearable and displayable fiber art explores the space where the metaphysical and material worlds overlap. I think of each piece as a small portal, inviting moments of reflection, intention, and connection.
CURIOUS BOTANICALS
My Curious Botanicals collection celebrates flowers that exist somewhere between observation and imagination. Each bloom is built through layers of wet felting, needle felting, and hand stitching, resulting in sculptural pieces that function as both wearable art and small fiber sculptures.
WHY WOOL?
I love working with wool because it is both resilient and endlessly transformative. Through the ancient process of felting, loose fibers become strong sculptural forms using only felting needles or water & soap, along with intentional movement. I often combine wool with silk, flax, ramie and natural stones, allowing each material to contribute its own history and character.
